Okiemute emerged as season nine winner of Nigeria’s music talent hunt in West Africa

After strings of thorough auditions across West Africa and 8 weeks of professional training, the MTN project fame West Africa has produced yet another Super Star, in Okiemute Ighorodje.
Thousands of contestants started the race, hoping to come into the academy and make it to the finishing line. But a few had made it to the finals. Okiemute who qualified into the finalist alongside Dapo, winner, Elisabeth, Pere and Kitay, have been consistent and cheering lots of fans at every of their performance, especially her own composed song. “Iya mi” a song composed by the winner was one which got almost everyone emotional including the judges and Joke Silver. The long awaited grand finale which was held at ultima studios, Lekki Lagos recorded outstanding performances and kicking off the show was Ige, a faculty member who left the audience in amazement at the powerful rendition she made of the song “Hallelujah”. Alongside was a great choreography by project fame’s dance instructor, Loveth and her dance crew.
Also adding colour to the event was the ‘Sade’ Crooner, Adekunle Gold whose performances thrilled everyone with his hit song “Ariwo Ko.”
When it was time for the final super six to perform, they repeated some their best performances as decided by the viewers, Okiemute performed Phyno’s hit song “Fada Fada,” Elizabeth sang Tiwa Savage’s “Standing Ovation”, Kitay turned the crowd up and got every one dancing as he performed Kiss Daniels “Mama,” and Pere sang Smith’s “writing on the Wall” which they made an amazing version of it.
After all performances winner on the other hand who took to the stage sang with emotions to the song “Hello” by Adele While Dapo gave a melodious tune too labrinth’s song “jeaious”. Okiemute was crowned the winner of project fame, season nine. The 25-year old linguistics and communication graduate from the University of Port Harcourt , Rivers state, smiled home with the grand prize of N5 million and a brand new SUV and a recording contract worth millions of Naira.
Elizabeth, the first runner-up was awarded the sum of N3 million and a saloon car while Kitay who emerged the second runner-up received N2million and a Saloon car and Pere the third runner up received N2 million.
Okiemute used to have a career in modeling but lately she is following her passion as a band lead singer and also hopes to release her debut song soon.
