The coach of Nigeria national side, Gernot Rohr, has invited 25-players to prosecute the two friendly matches arranged for the Super Eagles in London, United Kingdom. The Super Eagles of Nigeria is expected to trade tackles with the Stallions of Burkina Faso and the Teranga Lions of Senegal.
The matches will be played on 24th and 28th of March, which is a FIFA date set aside for national engagement. This will be the first outing of the national team in 2017, since the team’s victory over the Desert Warriors of Algeria in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers slated for Russia in October, 2016.
Rohr had revealed that the match will be a test run for the team and to prepare them for the task ahead, when the team files out against AFCON champions, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers in June 2017.
The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, have reiterated the scheduled date all invited players must report to camp for the matches. Rohr had announced that all invited players must report to camp latest by 13:00hours on Monday, March 20, as training will start that same day under the guidance of Rohr.
Thus, the Eagles are scheduled to have a minimum of three training sessions before stepping out to the Hive Stadium for their first game against Senegal, with the match against Burkina Faso coming up four days later at the same venue in London.
