Poison Scare in Lagos Govt

Abidakun: Attempt on her life failed.

Tragedy nearly struck last week following an attempt by some persons in the Lagos state government to poison a top civil servant in the state. The magazine leant that one Mrs Olubusola Ajibola Abidakun, Director , Administration a d Human Resources almost lost her life to plot by some disgruntled individuals in the government to get rid of her. Though the details of the allege attempt on her life still remained sketchy, it was leant that she survived the plot by sheer dint of fate. The latest attempt was one of many plots to take her life.
The incident occurred when some yet to be identified persons decided to spike her tea with poison during a meeting of some top civil servants last week. The former employee of Eko International Bank was said to have got wind of the plot to kill her with food poison a day before the meeting, she therefore kept her guard on.
Sources informed the magazine that those that want her dead decided to do so because they perceived her to be a stumbling block to their activities within the larger establishment of Governor Akinwumi Ambode’s government.
For instance, Abidakun, it was learnt have, in the past refused to sign some sensitive documents, even after serious pressure on her by the ‘cabal’. She had refused to tag along because she believed that doing so could implicate her, sources close to her informed the magazine.
Her stance has made her a target of diabolical plot. She was targeted ‘to be rid of by the some angry persons in the government who are no longer confortable with her because she has become a stumbling block to their nefarious activities” the magazine was told.
Abidakun was to sign another very sensitive document last week when the ‘cabal’ struck again. Sources informed the magazine that bubble burst when the top civil servant refused to drink the tea served her at the meeting where she was billed to put her signature on the important document.
Investigation was later conducted where it was discovered that the tea was indeed, poisoned. The magazine leant that all those involved in the saga have been arrested and are currently under investigation.
The matter has been reported to the state governor, Akinwumi Ambode who has now ordered a full investigation into the matter.
A message sent to Steve Ayorinde, the state commissioner for information and strategy through the ministry’s e-mail was not replied.
