Summit Publications Limited, publisher of The Source news magazine, was incorporated on December 23, 1996. The first issue of the magazine was published on Monday, April 7, 1997 – to critical acclaim. A weekly, The Source was conceived to be the peak of journalism excellence in Nigeria – a great news magazine, steeped in the New Journalism, that presents news and news analysis with striking depth and vision. The dream is of excellence and enterprise so well blended together in quintessential journalism that radiates a multi-level appeal as well as significantly reports the under-reported. News from the depth, rooted in time.
The editorial team of The Source is led by Comfort Obi (first winner of the Nigeria Media Merit Award for Reporter of the Year, 1991) as the editor-in chief and Maik Nwosu (winner of the Nigeria Media Merit Award for Journalist of the Year, 1994) as the executive editor. With its head office at 30 Emina Crescent, off Toyin Street, Ikeja, Lagos, The Source has editorial bureaus across Nigeria. Produced in mainly four magazine sections – Nigeria (Government and Politics), the World, Business and Economy (including Science and Technology), and Back of the Book (Arts and Media, Living and Sports) –, The Source is currently edited by Victor Ogene.
