Two movies, End of the Spears and Eventides, from the stable of OkayHouse were recently premiered, with great potentials for family entertainment

It was a night filled with gospel
music, movies and rib- cracking
comedy, recently at the Shell Hall of the prestigious Music Society of Nigeria (MUSON) centre when OkayHouse, an entertainment outfit whose focus is on packaging family- friendly programmes, premiered two movies entitled Eventides and End of the Spears.
The movies according to Olukayode Olubunmi, chief executive officer of OkayHouse and producer of one of the movies, Eventides, are stories that would touch the hearts of the viewing public.
End of the Spears a foreign movie which starred actors like Louice Leonardo, Chad Allen and Jack Guzman, is based on a true story about five American missionaries that made contact with one of the most violent and remote Amazon tribes but were tragically speared to death. The amazing events that subsequently allowed one of the killers to become family to the son of the man he killed is a story that defies belief and challenges the perception of revenge.
Eventides on the other hand is the story of Akin who has always done his father’s bidding and is prepared to continue as refusal is bound to cost him not only his life of luxury and love but also the love of his life. Just when an intelligent but indigent lawyer finally got a potentially rewarding brief, his client turns up dead. He suspects his father but other fingers pointed in his direction.
Meanwhile, Akin’s wife, Lolade inadvertently followed her family’s ploy and walked out on her marriage, on account of her husband’s widely rumoured murder and perceived betrayal.
The supremacy of blood over water was put to test when Akin’s father, had to choose between loyalty to his secret society and love for his son.
Reprieve for Akin came from a most unexpected person and by the time the dust settles, everybody’s life is no longer the same.
The movie stars major Nollywood actors such as Alex Usifo, Lari Williams, Kunle Bamtefa, Olukayode Olubunmi, Collette Ochonogor, Tope Ogun and Bimbo Manuel.
The premiere also attracted some of the crème of the society. Top on the list were the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Femi Pedro and his wife.
Speaking to The Source at the event, Olubunmi explained that his entertainment outfit, OkayHouse, is a mega platform where family entertainment would be redefined. “We are set to improve lives with our contents, glorify God and edify humanity. We believe one don’t have to compromise anything to make it in this life and a family should be able to watch a programme together, without junior turning his face when an obscene scene comes up.”
Pedro in a brief remark described the concept as a revolution, stating that the family in every aspect should come first, urging that children should be supported to do what is right always. “We have so many hidden talents here in the country, what they need is support and inspiration, like what OkayHouse is giving. They should have hope for the future and not feel that there is a dead- end somewhere. I believe that the youths have what it takes to make this country better,” Pedro said.
The highlight of the evening was gospel musical performances by a young and dynamic group called the J.C. Crew and six team. Other artistes were Yemisi, Iyke Onka and Magdalene. Famous gospel act, Asu Ekiye, also put his talent on display.
Olubunmi told The Source that his outfit promote young and talented acts and that OkayHouse have gotten the exclusive marketing right from the producers of End of the Spears for the whole of West and East Africa.
Both movies, he further explained, would make a great watch for the whole family.
